Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour

*If you are a PSCC Student and eligible for the Student Employment Program, you will be paid on experience and the rates are $14.00 (no experience), $15.00 (6 months experience) and $16.00 (9 months experience)*.

Work Hours: 20 hours per week

About the Pellissippi State Student Recreation Center:
The 24,000sq. ft. Student Recreation Center on the campus of Pellissippi State Community College includes: a Basketball Court, 4 indoor pickleball courts, a racquetball court, fitness studio, weight room, multipurpose room along with outdoor soccer and baseball fields, tennis courts, sand volleyball court and a disc golf course. The recreation program at Pellissippi State is thriving and considered by many the flagship community college recreation program in Tennessee. We are looking for our next great employee that can learn the many aspects of a college recreation program. Our ideal candidate is someone who is looking for experience in sport management or specifically college recreation to reach their future goals. This position is similar to what a facilities/events graduate assistant position would look like at a 4-year institution without the coursework.

Position Summary: To assist in managing and operating the Student Recreation Center during classes and intramural programming.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• The primary role includes maintaining a clean, well-organized and well-functioning student recreation center with a secondary focus on creating, hosting and operating small events at site campuses and occasionally on the main campus.
• Encourage student involvement in recreation programming through excellent service, organization, communication and enthusiasm.
• Organize event equipment, locations, and general needs to run smoothly.
• Create relationships with students, faculty, and staff to improve their experience while at the Student Recreation Center.
• Supervise facility, and student workers to carry out daily operations, cleaning, and events being held.
• Assist the SRC Facility Manager as needed with special projects.

Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma required
• Two years work experience in related areas such as fitness center experience, intramural program experience, supervisor experience, teaching experience or customer service

(Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% credit of full-time work experience)
