Job Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Strategy and Innovation for Access and Leadership Enrichment, the Success Coach supports all students, particularly those who are underrepresented and underserved, in developing the skills and knowledge required for academic success. The Success Coach collaborates with student leaders and college staff to build upon and institutionalize student-led initiatives to connect underrepresented students to internal and external resources and services. They contribute to the development, promotion, and implementation of year-round LEAD Center (Center for Leadership, Enrichment, Access, and Discovery) programming and student success strategies that enhance students' academic and social experiences on campus, including day-to-day activities and the annual BEARS Academy.
Job Duties
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Education, Social Science, Communication, or Business-related field
· Experience working with underrepresented, underserved populations
Preferred Qualifications
· Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Education, Social Science, Communication, Business, or other related fields.
· Experience working in Higher Education student services.
· Experience developing and implementing educational and cultural programs and events.
· Active involvement with community organizations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Well-developed written and oral communication skills and keen attention to detail, including the ability to prepare and deliver professional reports and presentation
· Technology Skills: MS Office suite; videoconferencing software; digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems
· Knowledge of campus programs & services
· Knowledge of TBR and institutional policies
· Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and caseloads while prioritizing, planning,
documenting, and following up on actions and outcomes
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate with individuals from various backgrounds and cultures
· Effective skills in interpersonal relations including tact and diplomacy.
