Title: Temporary – Accounting and Finance Administrative Staff (Pool)
POSITION SUMMARY
Provides general accounting and professional support in the Finance & Accounting, Budget and Bursar offices
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/ JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs a variety of complex administrative functions related to accounting operations. Assists with the preparation and review of Nashville State’s financial statements. Manages accounts payable transactions. Researches and resolves complex questions/issues regarding various accounting topics for the College. Assists with the preparation and review of Nashville State’s budget statements, with day-to-day operations within the Bursar’s office, and with grant management, invoicing, and reconciliations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field from an accredited college or university
Five (5) years of professional-level accounting experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Public Accountant licensure
Experience working in a higher education environment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to interpret College policies and procedures, Tennessee Board of Regents’ policies, and state and federal laws, rules, and regulations. Must demonstrate advanced skill level using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and the internet. Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and procedures of financial record keeping and reporting. Must have proven problem-solving ability and skills. Ability to learn and document accounting processes. Confident in taking initiative, prioritizing workload, and meeting deadlines. Must be detail oriented with proven analytical and organizational skills. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and their application.
Rate of Pay: $38.00 to $50.00 per hour, depending on experience
Work Hours: Up to 28 hours per week, depending on need
