Title: Temporary – Instructional Assistant, Surgical Technology (Pool)

POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides instructional assistance and support in the surgical technology program.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises and evaluates clinical students. Assists instructor with laboratory training. Assists with coordinating and supervising laboratory exercises. Evaluates laboratory students. Maintains inventory of laboratory equipment

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree

Current NCCA-accredited certification in surgical technology

Prior experience as a surgical technologist or surgical technologist educator

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
AAS in Surgical Technology from a nationally accredited program

Two (2) years of experience as a surgical technologist or surgical technologist educator

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of and/or experience with a variety of instructional delivery modes, including synchronous and asynchronous online teaching. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse student, faculty and staff population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Rate of Pay: $29.50 per hour

Work Hours: Up to 28 hours per week
