Position Summary:
The Temporary Part-Time Alumni Coordinator supports the Pellissippi State Foundation’s alumni engagement and communication efforts. Working under the direction of the Director of Annual Giving and Donor Engagement, this position will focus on maintaining consistent communication with alumni, supporting alumni engagement opportunities, and assisting with Foundation and College events.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include:
• Coordinate and develop Where Are They Now Wednesday alumni features, including identifying alumni, conducting interviews, gathering information and photos, drafting content, coordinating approvals, and preparing content for social media and other communication channels.
• Assist with alumni communications through email, social media, phone calls, and other appropriate methods to promote alumni stories, events, programs, and engagement opportunities.
• Support graduation activities, including coordinating communications with Commencement Committee alongside marketing and communication.
• Assist with planning and implementing alumni engagement opportunities, including Careers Made Here Alumni Luncheon and others.
• Provide general event support for major Foundation and College events, including event preparation, registration, setup, guest assistance, materials, communications, and event follow-up.
• Maintain accurate alumni information, records, documents, photographs, and other materials related to alumni engagement activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned to fulfill the strategic priorities and mission of the College.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Experience or demonstrated ability in communications, marketing, social media, event planning, alumni relations, public relations, customer service, higher education, nonprofit organizations, or a related area.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to create engaging and professional social media and written content.
• Ability to communicate effectively with alumni, students, faculty, staff, and community members.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining regular communication with the supervisor.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools.
• Ability to conduct interviews and develop compelling stories and features.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service and represent Pellissippi State positively.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office and other standard computer applications.
• Experience with photography, graphic design, Canva, social media management, or constituent databases is preferred.
• Ability to attend occasional evening and weekend events as needed.
