Title: Temporary – Program Recruiter, Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management
POSITION SUMMARY
To build enrollment in the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management programs through promotion and outreach events and effective marketing and recruiting plans.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Represent Nashville State Community College’s Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management programs to targeted constituencies, including middle schools, high schools and colleges, by giving presentations to groups about the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management programs and meeting with individual students, school counselors, administrators and/or other constituent groups to promote outreach activities. Provide career and academic advising and planning to potential students. Develop and maintain partnerships between the College, local school systems, alumni networks, faculty, community partners and other identified groups throughout the College’s service delivery area.
Participate in and/or organize and implement all aspects of special events, including career fairs and related outreach events. Develop a recruitment and marketing plan in collaboration with the Director of Culinary Arts and Director of Hospitality Management. Prepare reports and proposals as necessary regarding recruitment and outreach activities and respond to inquiries from students and agencies. Analyze trends in recruitment and retention programs and develop strategies for program evaluation. Create and distribute promotional and resource materials for student recruitment and retention programs. Develop mentorship programs. Meet regularly with the directors of Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management to provide updates on recruiting and marketing plans and events.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree
Two years of experience in related area or higher education setting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management
Two years of experience in culinary arts or hospitality management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Aptitude for analyzing student questions and requests. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports. Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to develop and deliver presentations. Ability to plan and implement programs. Knowledge of student recruitment and retention concerns. Ability to develop, plan and implement both short and long term goals.

Work Hours: 15-20 hours per week
