Title: Temporary – Tutors, All Campuses (Pool)

POSITION SUMMARY
To provide academic support for students enrolled in a variety of courses, such as Accounting, Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Computer applications and programs (Java, HTML, C++), Pre-calculus, Calculus I, II, and III, Statistics, Physics, Algebra, English and Economics.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitates the learning process for students seeking additional support outside of the classroom. Works in both one-on-one and small-group settings. Maintains knowledge in all subjects tutored. Records all session notes using the TutorTrac system.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
For applicants with a degree, an associate’s degree or higher in the discipline or related field or demonstrated expertise in subject matter content.

For student applicants, a B or higher in the course subject and recommendations from two college-level instructors, current or former.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous tutoring experience

For student applicants, an A in the course subject

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and/or experience working with a variety of learning styles. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Rate of Pay: $15.50 per hour

Work Hours: Up to 28 hours per week

AVAILABILITY/CLOSING DATE
