Title: Testing Associate

Institution: Volunteer State Community College

Campus Location: VSCC-Cookeville Center/VSCC-Livingston Center

Job Summary:

This position assists with the management of the daily operations of the Testing Center to benefit the College and community.

Job Duties:

Administer, proctor, and score various testing instruments used by the College and community. Obtain and maintain current certifications required by testing companies served by the College. Scan and manually input student testing information into Banner record system. Ensure testing integrity by providing an appropriate testing environment which meets required testing standards, regulations, and security measures. Monitor, inventory, and store securely all testing materials and supplies. Communicate with testing companies regarding ordering, regulations, and technical support. Receive, organize, secure, and maintain all documentation required by each testing company. Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot testing software, including online and computer-based testing for standardized certification exams and local exams such as ACCUPLACER placement test, College Level Examination Program (CLEP), Graduate Exit Exams, Foreign Language Placement, High School Dual Credit Exams, High School Equivalency Test (HiSET), Michigan English Placement Test (EPT), Microsoft certification exams, Professional Licensure/Certification Exams, the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) for Nursing AAS admission, and TN eCampus exams, among others. Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot issues with the Testing Center’s online scheduling system. Work cooperatively with VSCC faculty to receive, store, administer, and return make-up exams for VSCC students. Schedule and proctor online testing for VSCC online courses and TN eCampus courses. Coordinate remote testing for faculty and students at U.S. and international colleges. Work cooperatively with VSCC Information Technology to troubleshoot and resolve issues with Testing Center hardware and software. Assist with updating Testing Procedures Manual to ensure all information is current. Create and maintain spreadsheets to compile data related to Testing Center usage. Work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends during peak registration and exam periods. Ensure coverage during peak registration and exam periods. Schedule and administer professional certification exams to community professionals. Work cooperatively with VSCC Nursing Department to schedule and administer the TEAS and course exams to prospective and current VSCC Nursing students and communicate with TEAS examinees regarding testing requirements. Coordinate the administration of the CLEP exam to VSCC students, high school students, and the community at large. Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of two (2) years clerical experience.
At least one (1) year experience in a college testing environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Pay Rate: $34,736 - $41,684 annual salary depending on experience
