Job Summary

This position is responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and promoting the strategic vision for student success strategies and programs to increase enrollment and retention for all students. The Vice Chancellor works in cooperation with units under the umbrella of TBR’s Policy and Strategy unit (research and data, academic affairs, and student success and strategic initiatives) to promote best practices in enrollment and student retention. The position is responsible for the development and implementation of the System’s initiatives associated with student enrollment and retention, including admissions, advising, records, financial aid, and veterans affairs.

Job Duties

  • 50% - Provide leadership for a diverse functional unit to ensure that recruiting, admissions, financial aid, advising, veterans affairs, retention services, and records are operated in a cohesive and comprehensive fashion to support all TBR institutions to promote access and student success. Promote and facilitate collaboration and partnerships with external constituents such as college access partners, state agencies, non-profit agencies, and other organizations that focus on college access and enrollment of student populations in postsecondary. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Lead systemwide efforts to leverage the customer relationship management software to optimize the efficiency of admissions processing, communication strategies, recruitment, retention, and other functions to prospects and students. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Assist in developing and leading outreach efforts, consistent with TBR’s mission as an open-access community and technical college system that serves students of all backgrounds, demographics, income levels, readiness, or circumstances. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Coordinate the strategic enrollment management advisory committees, supervise staff, and provide administrative support for specific projects, programs and events critical to TBR’s mission. - (Essential)
  • 5% - A personal commitment, with assistance from TBR leaders, to devote time to growing and developing as a leader and a colleague. Other duties as assigned. - (Marginal)

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in higher education or related field
• 10 years of related experience in progressively responsible positions
• Evidenced experience in program development and management at an institution of higher education
• Experience in one or more student service areas, such as Admissions, Enrollment Management, New Student Programs, Financial Aid, Advising/Career Development, Veterans Affairs, or Registrar.
• Understanding and experience with federal and state financial aid policy and processes.
• Understanding of admissions and records, advising, veterans affairs, and other functional areas related to student enrollment and retention.
• Familiarity with technical systems that support enrollment and retention, such as CRMs.
• Supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Earned Doctorate
• Familiarity with the Banner Student Information System.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to work in a collaborative manner with diverse constituencies.
• Working knowledge of student financial aid, admission and records, advising, veterans affairs or other related aspects of strategic enrollment management.
• Working knowledge of student services systems
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communications, (written and verbal) and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Demonstrated planning, prioritizing, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
