*If you are a PSCC Student and eligible for the Student Employment Program, you will be paid on experience and the rates are $14.00 (no experience), $15.00 (6 months experience) and $16.00 (9 months experience)*.
Work Hours: 20 hours per week
Position Summary: The overall purpose of this job is to assist Workforce Development and Career Development in the coordination of career camps and recruitment activities for middle and high school students for advanced manufacturing and construction careers. Additionally, this position will work alongside Workforce Development and in collaboration with industry partners and instructors to conduct information sessions for high school students and their parents, provide career awareness, exploration, preparation, and training support services for pre-college and college student participants and refer them to labor market intermediary organizations for career guidance, preparation, and job placement services. Finally, this position is responsible for tracking participation in these activities and class placements (credit and non-credit) and program graduate job placements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
50% -In coordination with Pellissippi’s Workforce Development department, develop and conduct outreach and recruitment activities for middle school and high school students focused on advanced manufacturing and construction programs. Activities will include but may not be limited to: career fairs/expos; information sessions, career awareness, exploration, preparation, and training bootcamp experiences (2-3 per year) including 3D Printing and other Advanced Manufacturing-focused content such as machining, robotics, etc.
10%- Conduct information sessions for high school students and their parents, highlighting pathways into advanced manufacturing and construction-related fields
10%- Provide career awareness, exploration, preparation, and training support services for pre-college and college student participants, including, but not limited to: career interest/aptitude assessment and analysis; academic and career advising, etc.
10%- Refer pre-college and college students and college graduates to the labor market intermediary (LMI) for career guidance,
10%- Track participant class placements (credit and non-credit) and program graduate job placements
10%- Communicate updates with Pellissippi Career Development and Workforce Development staff. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma/Equivalency, 0-5 years of experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Proficient Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate in a variety of settings, whether to instructors, industry professionals or students and parents
• Ability to interact with people in a variety of settings is vital to success in this position.
• Able to engage in the college’s mission and values
