Title: Writing Center Advanced Tutor (Part-time, Temporary)

Job Summary
Reporting to the Dean of Humanities, the Writing Center Advanced Tutor is responsible for tutoring students on an appointment and walk-in basis. The Advanced Tutor is responsible for general office administration of the Writing Center that may include schedule and calendar maintenance, training of work study students, and general on-campus marketing.
Job Duties
• Conduct one-on-one tutoring sessions.
• Assist students with building their writing skills.
• Schedule tutoring appointments as requested.
• Answer phone and email inquiries from students and faculty regarding the Writing Center.
• Assist the Writing Center Administrator with maintaining office records, scheduling, internal marketing, promotion, and outreach.
• Conduct writing workshops for classes as requested.
• Maintain budget records for the Writing Center.
• Participate in training.
• Complete other assignments as directed by supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
• Experience teaching or tutoring English
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
• Two or more years of experience teaching English
• Conversational ability or fluency in a second language
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Technology Skills: MS Office Suite; videoconferencing software; digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems; Adobe software
• Capable of maintaining empathy, positivity, patience, and professionalism
